“I find Lipofirm’s non-invasive body shaping systems effective for circumference reduction, removing localized fat deposits and reducing cellulite. My patients are very pleased with the immediate and long-lasting results and are grateful that the treatments are so quick and pleasant.” – Dr. Michele Pelletier, M.D.
How Lipofirm Works
Lipofirm uses radiofrequency waves to target fat cells, get rid of cellulite, and tighten skin. Unlike for example Liposuction, Lipofirm does not involve surgery and is non-invasive. As such, it is a quicker, more comfortable, and a more cost-effective way to get the results you are looking for. There are no injections or anaesthetic, you don’t need to take time out to recover, and after each session you will be able to clearly see the improvements that it’s made.
The Lipofirm technology uniquely combines TriLipo Radiofrequency (RF) and TriLipo Dynamic Muscle Activation (DMA). Working in parallel using a single applicator, they create a synergistic effect that delivers non-invasive fat removal, lymphatic drainage, and skin tightening. Morphometric reductions are visible from the first treatment. Long term body shaping is achieved in a minimal number of treatments.
The triple action of TriLipo technology consists of RF deep volumetric heating combined with internal muscle contraction and external mechanical force. The RF energy generates heat through tissue resistance in both the dermal and subcutaneous layers. Selective and focused electro-heating of the skin stimulates and increases both fat metabolism in the subcutaneous fat layer and collagen remodelling in the dermal layer. In the subcutaneous fat layer, the thermal effect accelerates the natural fat metabolism process and the release of liquid fat from the fat cells into the extra-cellular matrix.
Drainage of the released liquid fat is accelerated by simultaneously applying internal and external pressure on the fat layer. Internally, DMA pulses stimulate the muscle layer causing the muscle to contract. This contraction elevates the muscle and pushes the fat cells up towards the surface. Simultaneously, the mechanical pressure of the applicator presses the skin from above. The combined internal and external pressure increases the removal of the liquid fat via accelerated lymphatic drainage.
The simultaneous effect of the RF and the forced drainage results in homogenous heating and in accelerated blood and lymph circulation that optimizes tissue oxygenation and detoxification. In the dermal layer, focused RF energy heats the collagen fibers causing them to contract, resulting in immediate skin tightening and smoothening. In addition, fibroblasts’ metabolism is accelerated leading to collagen regeneration and long term skin tightening and firming.

How Lipofirm Compares
CoolSculpting (also known as Cryolipolysis) is a fat reduction method where a specialised machine is used to chill specific areas of fat to around 4°C. This triggers the death of subcutaneous fat cells over the coming months.
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical treatment available from some beauty clinics. The treatment won’t reduce the visible signs of stretch marks or even cellulite.
Unlike Lipofirm, the CoolSculpt process can be very uncomfortable due to the low temperatures on the skin, and the suction system used to isolate the fat deposits will cause bruising and redness.
Laser Liposuction (not to be confused with Laser Lipolysis treatments such as Strawberry Lipo) is a fat reduction method that uses a laser to liquefy a specific area of fat. The fat is then sucked out of the body via a variety of methods.
Laser Liposuction is a surgical treatment normally carried out privately. It won’t reduce the visible signs of stretch marks or cellulite. There is always the chance of complications such as scarring, infections, and blood clots, making it a risky procedure.
The cost of the treatment depends on the amount of fat the patient wants to remove – The more fat, the more expensive the treatment. The price is usually around £2,000 to £3,000 for one targeted area, but this can increase if you need to be kept in hospital afterwards, or if you want a reputable surgeon to carry out the procedure.
Liposuction is an invasive operation that is carried out by a surgeon to remove areas of fat around the body. The operation normally takes place under general anaesthetic, but can also be done with a local anaesthetic.
There are numerous factors that determine how much fat is to be removed and which areas of the body can be operated on – Something normally decided between the patient and the surgeon that carries out the operation.
The recovery time of liposuction can be anything from two days to two weeks, in which time the patient can’t go back to work. The cost varies depending on the amount of fat that is removed and the reputation of the surgeon, but you can expect to pay a minimum of £3,000 to £6,000.
Similarly to Weight Watchers, a dieting programme like Slimming World is not a rival to Lipofirm. Using the two together is an ideal way to augment the benefits that you will enjoy from each.
By eating more healthily and losing weight, you’ll find that the extra inches you can shed through Lipofirm are far more likely to stay off.
Strawberry Laser Lipo treatment involves a method that’s similar to Lipofirm, but it uses laser technology. The treatment involves attaching small paddles directly onto the skin in the chosen area.
Once attached, laser beams are emitted to penetrate the skin to the layers of fat. The fat cells then form little pores, allowing glycerol, fatty acids, and water to ‘fall out’. The fat cells are then reduced in size.
The treatment requires you to exercise for half an hour to one hour within 12 hours of having the process. If you need multiple treatments in one session, you’ll be required to do more cardiovascular exercise.
Sadly, the results vary a lot depending on how much exercise you do and how soon after the treatment it takes place. The price varies too, but typically starts at around £150 for a single treatment.
Tumescent Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that’s performed under local anaesthetic. It is invasive, and usually performed as an outpatient operation.
The anaesthetic is injected into areas where fat is a problem. The injected areas then swell, making them easier to contour. The surgeon will cut a hole into the skin where the fat is and insert a tube to suck out the fat.
Once the operation is over, it usually takes between four and seven days before the patient can return to a healthy exercise routine.
The cost of liposuction is generally in excess of £2,000, and it often involves considerable time off from work.
A Tummy Tuck (or Abdominoplasty) is a form of cosmetic surgery that aims to improve the appearance of the stomach by firming up the abdomen area. The process may involve different techniques that remove excess fat and skin, or even tighten up the muscles in the abdomen.
The actual operation can take anything between two and six hours, during which the patient is placed under general anaesthetic. When the operation is complete, it may be that the patient needs to remain in hospital for a period of time (this can be for as much as 4 days) depending on the specific surgical techniques employed during the surgery.
As a rule, the healing process takes around 6 weeks before the scars have healed and the patient can continue with their usual routine. Prices vary depending on the reputation of the surgeon carrying out the work, but you can expect to pay between £3,000 and £6,000.
We do not see diet programmes like Weight Watchers as rivals to Lipofirm. Instead, we see them as two complimentary approaches to weight loss and slimming.
This is because with Lipofirm you can achieve your perfect body quickly, and with the healthy eating and exercise approach that Weight Watchers advances, you can sustain these results.
